What Is Line Editing?
When it comes to line editing, I provide feedback on three main things: Clarity, Consistency, and Conciseness.
Â
Whether you are writing nonfiction or fiction, these three things are crucial to consider in order for your book to be written well.
Â
Clarity refers to whether each sentence is easily understandable.
Consistency refers to ensuring the voice, tone, and style of writing matches throughout the book as a whole.
Conciseness refers to removing fluff, repetition, and unwanted rhythm within the writing.
Â
When I line edit a book, I provide tracked changes throughout each chapter, as well as giving a short summary at the end of the chapter to highlight anything I thought was done well or needs work.
Â
As a full-time writing coach, I have worked with hundreds of writers on their books. You can be confident I will provide you with the same quality and focus to detail as I provided them. :) You won't be disappointed.
